The Filtercharger Injection Performance Kit provides exceptional air flow
combined with outstanding filtration! Unlike factory intake plenums and filters
that restrict incoming air flow, the Filtercharger Kit drastically reduces
intake restriction while smoothing and straightening air flow. This allows your
engine to inhale larger quantities of air, enhancing usable power and torque
throughout the engine's rpm range. And if your engine is turbocharged or
supercharged, the power gains can be phenomenal, as these engines are very
sensitive to intake air flow.

This K&N Filtercharger®
Injection Performance Kit (hereafter referred to as: FIPK) is designed to
be less restrictive than the OEM air filter system. Low restriction air filters
allow the engine to have better throttle response as well as more power
throughout the RPM band. K&N has designed this FIPK to exactly
replace the OEM factory air cleaner case, with a precision engineered aluminum
adapter and all the necessary mounting brackets, bolts, screws and nuts.
Additionally, it is important to note, if the O.E.M. air cleaner case has
emission control devices and/or hoses, that all these parts will be installed as
necessary to the new assembly.
EMISSIONS LEGAL
FIPKs are given an EO (Exemption Number) by CARB (California Air
Research Board) which means they are street legal in all 50 states. These kits
are designed to replace the original air filter case but do no eliminate or
render inoperative any emission control device. A high temperature label issued
with each kit displays the EO number assigned by the California Air Research
Board. The number will allow a vehicle to pass a visual inspection at an
authorized Smog Inspection station.

A Revolution in Air Filtration Technology
When it was first developed in 1962, the K&N Filtercharger®
was a true design breakthrough in air filtration technology. Today, it still is.
Because K&N's Filtercharger® can actually double air
flow, which, in turn, adds up to 15 extra horsepower.
The secret lies in the K&N Filtercharger®'s
unique design. Conventional filters use paper or foam material permeated with
millions of tiny, irregular passages, that screen dirt particles out of the air.
Because the dirt particles are trapped inside the passages, they eventually
clog; and when this occurs, airflow restriction increases dramatically.
With the Filtercharger®, a special cotton fabric is
sandwiched between the pleated aluminum screen wires. The pleated design
provides five times more filtering surface over the element circumference. The
cotton/screen wire filter media is then saturated with a formulated air filter
oil.
Acting like a fluid curtain, this oil attracts particles of dirt and debris
which build up on the outside of the filter. This buildup of dirt particles
suspended in oil creates more and more irregular passages that actually create
an additional filtering barrier with use. Not until very fine particles close
this secondary "filter layer" does the filtercharger begin to clog.
In most cases, up to 1/8" of dust can cover a Filtercharger®
before performance is significantly affected. On a street driven vehicle, a
Filtercharger® can last up to 50,000 miles before
service is required. Then, because it's made of reusable materials, you can just
clean it, apply fresh K&N Filter Oil and Re-install.

The all new billet-aluminum washable fuel filter offers the
highest filtration quality of any fuel filter on the market. The 81-0500 series
filters contain a 304 stainless steel filter disc which will stop particles as
small as 10 Microns (.000392") in size. The 1.375" diameter pleated
disc provides 6.02 square inches of effective surface area to prolong service
intervals. The finned 2" diameter billet aluminum body is 4.25" long
with AN fittings. Interchangeable threaded end caps sealed with rubber O-rings
will withstand up to 6000 pounds per square inch of pressure. Bypass option will
prevent total fuel starvation in race applications.
